The film premiered at the 2019 International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam. The film has also been shown at the UN conference in Geneva, presented at the G7 summit and in the EU. It won the HUMAN Award at the HUMAN International Documentary Film Festival in 2020, and got nominated for the Amanda Award 2020 for Best Documentary. iHuman got nominated for the ConScience Award at Docville in 2020 and Best Nordic Documentary at Nordisk Panorama in 2020.
